2017 gone...2018 next

November 6, 2017

Well, 2017 has come and gone already - and man was it a weird - but successful - year.

First off - we had a touch of all 4 seasons in one month.  We started with temperatures in the mid 80's, and ended on Halloween night with temps in the 30's.  The weekends in between were all the temperatures between those bookends - with a couple of strong thunderstorms as well.

Crowds were slow to come at first, and then we ended with more people than we've ever had - with a couple of nights so busy that we had lines winding everywhere!

We added a new attraction this year with our escape room.  It was a risk - but one that paid off as we had something extra to scare people with - which has convinced us to go ahead and build out a second one, in order to provide 3 attractions next year.

We learned that our haunted house still has the ability to scare people into panic attacks - but we all agreed at the end - it's time to expand the size of the haunt, so the experience can be longer and even more frightening.  So we're actively researching the best and most effective way to go about doing that.  We don't want to be like any other haunted house you've ever been in.  We absolutely love all of the haunts out there - but we want to try to be different.  With that, we're looking at ways to grow, but not to just get bigger for getting bigger's sake.

We had more staff this year than our first year, and that was worth it in so many ways.  Administrators made it easier to manage lines, and more actors meant more scares - as everyone was fresh.

If you came and saw us this year - we sincerely hope you had a good time.  While we recognize you can't make everyone happy - we really try to.  We don't just want your money - we want you have fun and genuinely get frightened!

Thanks to everyone who did come out, and everyone who helped make this year bigger than our first.  2018 will be here before you know it, and we can't wait to see what is in store...Until then, may you have a fantastic Christmas and Holiday season, and a wonderful New Year!
